For all of us, committee weekend was an opportunity to collaborate and discuss what was going on for the year. What we didn’t know, was that it was an opportunity to push ourselves and know each other better than ever before
We started on Saturday morning, where we grouped into two cars, and went off to Ovronnaz. There, despite knowing each other a bit, we still had some unknowns about each other. As we started to discuss the agenda when we got to Ovronnaz and started working together to put together the plan for the year, we got to know our ideas, put our views across and know more about what our perspectives are like. Furthermore, with some time together in the hot springs and at dinner, our relationships started to build. By the end and after some small talk aprés diner, our relationships seemed to have been linked.
The next day, we went to do a swing jump as our personal challenge. Despite being afraid of height or speed, everyone courageously managed to jump off from a cliff; according to Mr.Pesse, it was the first time every member of the committee did this activity. After everyone finished jumping, we had BBQ by a river. It was the best opportunity to discover each of us’s collaborative skills, social skills as well as voluntarism. Finally, we took a committee picture and headed back our home.
By the end of this weekend, we all understood that we equally love our community and are determined to dedicate our time for other 380 family members —regardless of genders, classes, nationalities and lengths of Rosey lives. We, The Student Committee of 2018-2019, believe that this year will be the most unique and fascinating year.
