The purpose of our expedition was to learn to be responsible and with that to get to know everyone, our teachers, our classmates and the nature of Kanderstag. We left Rosey Thursday morning and arrived there in the afternoon. We slept in a scout center that was very eco-logical. We learnt to recycle, take of the environment and did fun activities.
That afternoon we walked up a little mountain and at the top went on slides in the small race cars that slide on the rails. After we walked activities were offered to us in the salon. They were mainly team games and it made appreciate everyone and tolerate them because we are all different. That night we played games in the salon and Mr. Parry showed us how to meditate.
Friday was the hiking day, we hiked up a mountain with a beautiful view. To be honest going down was more painful then going up. The point of hiking was to show how people are different some are faster and some are slower, we did to show unity as a class. Some had problems and when they did there was someone there to help, always. Hiking was tiring so when we reached the top we sat down and had a picnic. It was a great sight since I was sitting on a hill. That night we went to a pizzeria and while we were walking back we stopped to listen to the bats in the trees. That sound was incredible, it was a noise I never heard before and I was really impressed by it.
The next morning we chose groups and made a video about caring for the environment. We had about 30 mins to complete it and we did. Then, in those same groups we got the opportunity to do activities such as: building a shelter, playing normal games and the funnest one was the juice marker. You sit on a bicycle and push the pedals and put fruit inside the mixer which is spun turning the pedals. That night was the night of the best dinner, we walked over to a place and Mr. Parry lit up a bonfire. We could eat marshmallows, chocolate in bananas, and all of them were delicious.
The next morning we packed up, went to breakfast and got in the bus and were going to the canyoning. The water was freezing, even though it was an extraordinary experience I would like to do again.
Thank you to all the teachers that made this expedition possible. We loved it.
